During the Covid-19 lockdown, the Queen Mary Centre, run by the Ferry Project, opened its facilities to accommodate the NHS Blood and Transplant team whilst they collected blood donations. During that time, 1,196 donations were made, helping to save or better the lives of up to 3,588 people.
Commenting on the blood donations, Luke Folan, Deputy Regional Planning Manager for NHSBT, said, “These are amazing figures!”
