City College Peterborough is offering people an opportunity to improve their DIY skills with a chair-making workshop in The Mini Vine on Thursday 2 September.
The two-hour session at the recently opened community space on Bridge Street starts at 1pm and a £5 workshop enrolment fee will be donated to The Green Backyard in Peterborough.
Bespoke furniture designer and lecturer Matteo Fogale has created the chairs especially for The Mini Vine and will be leading the workshop, which includes tips on how to care for wood and the use of handheld tools in joinery making.
The chairs will be assembled from pre-cut and pre-drilled plywood and timber. The session will guide participants on joining pieces with screws, sanding and applying a wax finish.
There are limited places available to take part in the workshop and bookings should be made by emailing admin@citycollegepeterborough.ac.uk The workshop is for people aged 19 and over.
