Wisbech Town Council Mayor Making

Councillor Susan Wallwork became Wisbech’s latest Town Mayor at the Mayor-Making Ceremony, held in the Council Chamber at Wisbech Town Hall, on Friday 20 May. She will be ably assisted by Councillor Peter Human as the Deputy Mayor.  The outgoing Town Mayor, Councillor Andrew Lynn and his wife Reema were presented with a Past Mayor and Past Mayoress badge respectively. He was thanked by councillors for his commitment and hard work during his year in office.

The ceremony was by civic dignitaries, councillors, council officers and the new Mayor’s invited guests.  The Mayor’s Consort is her husband David. Mayor Wallwork said: “I would like to take this opportunity to give a promise to the town that I will aim to fulfil this role to the best of my ability.  I absolutely love my hometown and believe it deserves the best that I have to give.  I hope to do Wisbech proud.”  The Deputy Mayor will be supported by his wife, Janet Tanfield, during his period of office.
